Why it exists
I looked for software to meet the need and could not find one, so through need one was created.
The need was plain: rank every station to every area by drive time, show the route behind each answer so it could be checked, and hand the result to the dispatch center in the layout it wanted. Nothing I found did that. Mapping tools gave distances; spreadsheets gave columns; neither gave a run order a chief could stand behind.
GP Run Times is the tool that came out of that. It is built by someone who had the job to do, for departments that set their own run orders. Most of what it does today, placements by hand, highway points, the GIS import, the published run order for crews, was added because a department asked for it.
