Using your county's GIS travel times
If your county's GIS department already works out the travel time from each station to each area, GP Run Times can rank your run orders by those times instead of its own routing.
The import
Drop the GIS export, a workbook, on the Run orders page. A layout the site knows is read as it is. Any other layout is mapped once: you say which column holds the station, which the place and which the minutes, or how a single column splits into them, and the layout is saved for your agency so the next export in that shape reads itself. Templates are there to hand to the GIS department when they ask what to send.
Matching stations to units and places to areas
The export names stations its own way; a Units sheet says which of your units each one is. It names places its own way too; a Geo Prox sheet says which of your areas each place is, or the match is made by address. A unit the export has no time for is listed last in every run order and said plainly, until the GIS department's data has it. A second data set in the same export can be kept apart as its own units, or left out.
Times only
GIS times are travel times, not routes. No map is drawn and no location is needed; a station's address can stay blank. Where an export gives a highway in two directions, both are combined into one area and each unit takes its faster one; the opposing-direction rule does not apply, because there is no route to tell which side a unit arrives on.
Compare
Compare drive times puts the site's routing and the GIS times side by side for one area. Compare all does it for every area at once, two rows each, so a department can see where the two disagree before it chooses which one to publish. The download uses whichever the list is set to, never both in one run order.
